Designing Wedding Albums

I love designing wedding albums just as much as I do photographing weddings. What I love about album designing is that each album takes on a life of its own from one page to the next. Each wedding is an expression of the bride and groom, and each album is a storybook as unique as the bride and groom themselves. All my wedding packages include an album. I think it is important to insure that the album is completed. If you would like to see what I have been working on, please go to www.ljordanphotography.weddingherald.com.
My album design service is available to anyone. I have found that some couples end up with all their images on a CD, but years later, still do not have an album. If you know someone like that, have them call me. I would be happy to help.

Photo Shoot For Diva Tu Magazine and Alayna's Bridal

Saturday was an amazing day for me! I had the opportunity to shoot an ad layout for Alayna's Bridal Salon (Camarillo) and also the cover shot for Diva Tu magazine! Teresa, the owner of the salon, contacted me a few weeks ago and said she wanted me to photograph her ad. I had

photographed her wedding a few years ago, and she wanted to hire me again. (Thank you Teresa) Then the magazine asked if I would shoot the cover as well (on Teresa's suggestion)

So after several days of detailed planning, we started at 2:30pm with hair and make-up for 3 models, Anna, Mayra, and Paloma. We started shooting at 5:30pm and finished at 7:10 pm. The light was perfect, the models beautiful, and my assistants, Timothy and Sara, were wonderful. Our make-up artist, Naz, did an amazing job for this shoot. We used the grounds behind Ojai City Hall for most of our shoot, and then moved to the Museum for the cover images.

New Year's Day - Hangover Run with the 914-6 boys!

I had so much fun on New Year's Day! I got to "run" with the NARP (not a real Porsche) 914-6'rs. My husband lead 11 914's and 1 VW bug through the twisted turns of Malibu, down Decker Canyon, and Mulhulland, to PCH. Here are the photos I captured from the lead car , twisted backward and still buckled in.

I had the absolute privilege of photographing the wedding of Libby and Jessie last month at Maravilla Gardens. What a gorgeous venue! And what a great party! Those boys from Brown University celebrated well! And I have to say that Libby and Jessie have two amazing families! Their blessings on the marriage were obvious. Thank you for letting me be a part of your day!

Wedding at The Ranch

Our home was the site for an intimate wedding and reception last Saturday! Mike and Julie were married under the oak tree as guests gathered around them. What a treat it was to have Alan Thornhill here on his guitar! Hor d'ourves and cocktails (Bartender was Jacy from Attitude Adjustment.) were served by the pool, and dinner followed on the lower deck. The catering service was It's My Pleasure Catering and guests raved about the food. They were really great to work with. (They left my kitchen cleaner than when they started :-) Dancing was to the music provided by Tim Knapton of In the Mix. It was such a wonderful experience for my husband and I that we are eager to offer our home to more couples looking for a wedding location. We wish the best to Julie and Mike, and thank them for bringing their joy to our back yard!

NACE 50th Anniversary

I am an affiliate member of the Ventura Chapter of NACE, National Association of Catering Executives, and we had our 50th Anniversary celebration a few weeks ago. The organization consists of wedding professionals from Ventura County, a great group of people who have quickly become my friends.I have FINALLY figured out how to post my slide shows, with the help of my AWSOME computer technician, Brian Bauer at ABC Computers. (If you are not a computer techno person, call Brian.....797-1757, he can help with anything computer related!)

Went to see Tom Petty's old band at the Arlington Theatre last night in SB. Amazing show, and what an incredible collection of talent! You should try to get in to the Ventura Theatre tonight for his show there! I may go again!!

New Studio Space!

Over the past 3 months, my hubby has worked hard to convert our second garage over to my office/studio/darkroom and I now have beautiful french doors instead of that old garage door, and I just love it! It is so cozy. I could actually live out there if there was a bathroom, ha! I spend all my time there, from sun-up to sun-down, radio rockin' on 95.9. With just a few items to get, I will be printing my own black and white prints soon! Yeah, I shoot digital as well as film, but film will be my first choice for a while. Can you tell that photography is my life? Oh, wait, I can show you what I am talking about, be right back..............

So I do hope everyone had a fantabulous holiday and that 2008 means bigger and better things for everyone! My husband and I got away for a few days before Christmas and hit the slopes at Mammoth. He has been snowboarding for 10 years, and I switched over 6 years ago, and I will never go back to skiis. I have been busy with family portraits, and wedding fairs. January 6th was spent at Spanish Hills Country Club participating in their first Bridal Fair of the year and it was awesome! I met so many brides to be and their moms, and or fiances. Seemed as if everyone was having a good time. It was fun to talk to everyone and hear about their plans for the new year. Call me soon, as my calendar is filling up fast!

I had the honor of photographing Michelle and Nathan's wedding on August 11th and it was beautiful! The venue was wonderful.............wedding at the El Presidio chapel in Santa Barbara, and reception at the Santa Barbara Yacht Club. Congratulations! I will have photos soon!
The very next weekend I photographed another wonderful wedding, Mindy and Ricky's. They were married at the Community Presbyterian church on Poli St in Ventura, and their reception was at Eucalyptus Lane! So Beautiful! I wish you the best, Mindy and Ricky!
